The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain, is the official authority responsible for managing domain name operations in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It operates its country code top-level domains .bh and its IDN variant البحرين..

The Authority is an independent body with the mission to liberalize the telecommunications market and digital economy, oversee fair competition, and make available telecommunication resources, such as domain names, in a fair and transparent manner.

Pursuant to the Electronic Transactions Law, the Minister responsible for Telecommunications issued Resolution No. 3 of 2008 assigning TRA the responsibility for the registration and management of the .bh and البحرين. country code Top Level Domains (ccTLD) as a national resource. This resolution was amended in 2018 paving the way for the Authority to manage the Bahrain domain names under new regulations.

This is a critical project and is an important stepping stone to realise the vision of promoting Bahrainian domains and globally working to recognize Bahrain as the Digital Kingdom!

.bh offers companies, individuals and small businesses a single destination to set up their web presence, showcase their national identity and function as a local business online.
